Qur'an Reflection
Bismillah…
This book was born from a longing,
a longing for a slower, softer,
more intimate way of meeting the Qur’an.
Many of us grew up reciting Juz 30:
memorizing its short surahs,
whispering them in prayer,
hearing them through the voices of those we love.
Yet for many of us,
the meanings stayed distant.
The verses became familiar to the tongue
but not always alive in the heart.
I wanted to create a space
where the Qur’an could be felt.
Not rushed.
Not feared.
Not approached as an academic obligation,
but as a conversation
between Allah and the human soul.
This book is for people who:
• want to reconnect with the Qur’an after seasons of
distance,
• want to feel the meanings more deeply instead of reading mechanically,
• want to build a habit of Qur’an reflection with structure and gentleness,
• love spiritual journaling and want a safe, grounded way to pair it with the
Qur’an,
• feel overwhelmed by long tafsir books and need something accessible yet
authentic,
• crave a modern, global, aesthetically beautiful Qur’an companion,
• and for those who are ready, or just beginning to let the Qur’an speak to
their wounds, their questions, and their quiet hopes.
But the truth is,
this book was also created
for those who are struggling silently.
For anyone who whispers:
• “I don’t know where to begin.”
• “I want to feel close to Allah again.”
• “I want the Qur’an to touch my heart.”
• “I need a simple, guided way to reflect.”
• “I want a spiritual practice that fits my real life.”
And yes,
this book is for the busy ones,
the tired ones,
the ones who feel behind,
the ones healing from heartbreak,
and the ones seeking a sacred pause
in the middle of their days.
This book is not here to impress you.
It is here to accompany you.
It was designed to:
• open quiet doors,
• soften hard corners,
• light small lamps,
• and give you language
for the things you feel
but have never known how to express.
Use it slowly.
Use it with presence,
with curiosity,
with honesty,
with whatever heart you bring,
even if that heart feels fragile.
This book exists because
the Qur’an is not only guidance.
It is companionship.
And every companionship needs space,
slowness,
presence,
and reflection.
May this book be a gentle beginning
to a deeper, more intimate relationship
between you and the Qur’an.
What makes this Qur’an Reflection different?
I’ll tell you soon.
Stay close.
Something sacred is coming.
This is my first international book,
and I am so grateful to prepare it
for myself, for you, and ummah.
A Small Story Behind the Making of This Book
I finished writing Qur’an Reflection
while my city was facing severe instability.
As you know, floods struck Indonesia
at the end of November,
and the heaviest impact
fell upon Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra,
my home island.
Alhamdulillah, my village wasn’t flooded,
but the electricity across our area went out
because of the wider damage.
Every night,
we lived in darkness.
I finished this book
by candlelight.
With no electricity,
it was hard to call,
hard to work,
and even harder to access the internet.
The signal remains unstable until now,
making everything—from water,
to candles,
to fuel,
to basic food, more difficult.
Even finishing my website, barakahstory.com,
became nearly impossible.
But I hold onto Allah’s promise
in Surah Ash-Sharh, verses 5–6:
“Indeed, with hardship comes ease.”
Hardship is like the wrapper around a candy.
If someone gives us a candy,
we don’t want it unwrapped,
exposed, or broken.
We want it whole.
But once we receive it,
we still remove the wrapper
to enjoy the sweetness inside.
Likewise,
every gift from Allah
comes wrapped in something
we may not want,
something we must peel away first.
The floods, the darkness,
the difficulty,
these are the wrappers.
In shaa Allah,
something sweet,
something meaningful,
something powerful
is coming as the gift.
If you want to join the waiting list for Qur’an Reflection
I promise,
this is a true all-in-one Qur’an Reflection.
Whatever you need is already here,
in shaa Allah.
Thank you for reading until the end.
May Allah bless you
and ease every step of your life.
Aamiin.
